Choice Advice Service
The Choice Advice Service was established in 2006 and is a free, confidential and impartial service which offers support for Knowsley parents, who may find navigating the admission’s process difficult. Support is available for parents when:
- Applying for a Reception Class place
- Applying for Secondary School place
- Moving schools during term time (In-year transfer)
- Going through the appeals process however please note the Choice Adviser will not attend the appeal hearing
Choosing a school can be a stressful time for you and your child. The Choice Adviser can help you through the admission process and encourage you to think carefully about which School or Centre for Learning to apply to. Where can I find a Choice Adviser?
Your Choice Adviser will be visiting Primary Schools during the summer and autumn term to deliver a ½ hour ‘Choosing a School’ Information session and 1 hour ‘Drop in’ Session to assist with completing any application forms. (Please look out for the date when the Choice Adviser will be at your school). Your Choice Adviser attends all the Knowsley Secondary Centre for Learning open evenings and is also available for one to one meetings throughout the year. Choice Advisers can help with: - The admission system
- Completing the application form
- School policies
- Information about individual schools
- Online application form
- Information about oversubscribed schools
- Transport details
- School term dates
- School hours.
The Choice Advice Service is based in Knowsley Parent Partnership service but can support all parents.
Please note, although Choice Advisers can provide you with information they can not make decisions for you.
